The Hall at Middle Temple is one of the finest examples of an Elizabethan hall in the country with a double hammer beam roof carved from the oak of Windsor Forest and an elaborately carved screen made in 1574.

The traditional oak panelled walls are festooned with Coats of Arms and the impressive windows are made from heraldic glass memorials to notable Middle Templars.

The Hall offers a dramatic backdrop for corporate receptions, formal dinners and wedding receptions accommodating up to 500 people. It can be configured in a wide variety of layouts to suit individual requirements.

It is still the centre of life for the Inn today as Bench, Bar and Students meet there daily for lunch. It is possible to pre-book lunch to experience these impressive surroundings.

Did you know? The bench table is believed to be a gift from Elizabeth I. It is 29 feet long and made from a single oak tree which was floated down the Thames from Windsor Forest.

We are enormously grateful to you for Saturday’s wedding reception. Your advice beforehand was most useful and your handling on the night excellent. Everything was managed with efficiency and good humour and it was reassuring to be able to feel –as we did – that all was in safe hands. Numerous guests have told us how much they enjoyed the evening, as we did ourselves. That testifies to the expert way in which it was run by you.
